March seems a very good time to visit the Delta. Very green. Drying out from rains of January and February. Temperatures delightful day and night and perfect for a camping safari, with clear skies …Full review by CCleChat

Go in the wet seasons when you can go in a mokoro canoe down the canals the elephants create by walking through the tall grasses. Amazing place to be.Full review by M6983QDmarcom

Questions & answers

Q:
I have the chance to travel for safari in the Delta in either mid April or late August. Which would you recommend, and why?
A:
April is the rainy season and access to camps may be difficult. August would be better as the rains will have stopped just a bit hot.

I recommend Safari Specialists. They organiced the whole trip and booked for us the 6- night camping part from Maun up to Kasane with Bushways, which I recommend too. I do not recommend at all the one day boat trip with Endurance Travel. Boats are not reliable and they do not refund you if the engine breaks in the middle of the Delta and you have to end your day trip.

Hi! We are going to the Okavango in July and are trying to decide on a mokoro company, a plane/helicopter company etc. We are looking for a great experience, but also bang for our buck (not looking to take expensive tours with huge profit margins for rich companies). Any suggestions? Thanks a lot for any help you can provide! Matt

I think everyone will have a different story based on individual experience with their respective tours. During our time there we went with Sun Safari's who hire subcontractors for the job. You might try researching reviews of individual tours for your answer. In the end it's based on local knowledge, how long they have done the job, how long your out there during the day and just some plain good luck with seeing elusive lions and leopards. It's a big area and animals move about constantly.
