A Western version of Iceland ! The landscape is other worldly, with a bison roaming around. You need a sunny day with some clouds to get all texture. Full review by goingbackhome

Haha. I TOOK that road. The one that is not the causeway. I’ll save you the trouble. It doesn’t get you to the island. After leaving civilization behind (in the form of a warehouse district, we bumped along paved roads that became dirt roads that eventually ended at a locked farmer’s gate to a field. We were in hysterics laughing by this time. Again, make sure you take THE correct road on the north end of the island. That road is worth the trip.

You can go in the water in June, but it’s very salty and smelly, you will want to shower after. It’s absolutely beautiful, but not a typical day at the beach. I would say 2 - 3 hours and make …
