WEBNov 23, 2023 · The Village of Burns Lake has decided to repay the Water Treatment Plant loan budget of $431,404.50 from the water capital reserves. A total of $503,304.50 has been borrowed from the Municipal Finance Association (MFA), for the construction of the water treatment plant, and $71,900 has already been paid off against the principal of the loan in 2023, resulting in the current owing balance.
Burns Lake track resurfacing a step closer to reality
WEBDec 25, 2019 · The resurfacing of the Burns Lake track is another step closer to reality after the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako committed $40,000 to support the project. School District No. 91, which owns the track near Lakes District Secondary School (LDSS), had requested the regional district’s assistance in the form of federal gas tax funding.

Update on wildfires near Burns Lake
WEBAug 18, 2021 · It’s been over a month since the fire near Chief Louie Lake was discovered, and crews are still working to fight it. According to the most recent update from the Northwest Fire Centre (NWFC) on Aug. 9, the size of the fire is an estimated 20,122 hectares, growing from the previously reported size of 19,000 which was posted on the B.C Wildfire Services dashboard on Aug.6 .
